Border Patrol Agent Shot Near Canadian Border, New Hampshire Man Charged with Attempted Murder

Pittsburg, NH – A New Hampshire man has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting a U.S. Border Patrol agent near the Canadian border on Sunday morning. The incident occurred in Stewartstown, approximately 13 miles from Pittsburg, New Hampshire.

Details of the Shooting

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Blu Zeke Daly, 26, of Manchester, New Hampshire, was involved in an exchange of gunfire with a Border Patrol agent. The agent had approached Daly while he was driving on Saturday evening. When the agent inquired about Daly’s name, Daly drove away.

The agent followed Daly to the Pittsburg Port of Entry, where the gate was locked. As the agent exited his vehicle, Daly allegedly fired a handgun at the agent, who then returned fire, striking Daly.

Charges and Current Status

Daly has been charged with attempted murder of a federal officer and assault of a federal officer with a deadly weapon. Each charge carries a potential sentence of up to 20 years in prison and a maximum fine of $250,000.

Daly is currently receiving medical treatment at a state hospital while under guard, according to the Concord Monitor.
