U.S. Patient with Advanced Lung Cancer Stabilized by Novel Immunotherapy in China

SHANGHAI, March 7, 2026 – Jiahui International Cancer Center (JICC) has achieved disease stabilization in a U.S. Patient with advanced non-little cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and Parkinson’s disease using ivonescimab, a novel immunotherapy currently available only in China.1,2,3

Patient’s Journey to Innovative Treatment

The patient, a man in his 70s, had exhausted all standard treatment options at MD Anderson Cancer Center in the United States.1,2,3 His physicians recommended ivonescimab, the first approved bispecific PD-1/VEGF antibody for solid tumors.1,2,4 After a video consultation with Jiahui International Cancer Center in late November – scheduled within a week of his initial inquiry – the patient’s family chose to pursue treatment in Shanghai, citing the center’s multidisciplinary expertise and the experience of its Chief of Medical Oncology, Dr. Xuan Linli, who received her training in the U.S.1,3,4

Treatment Challenges and Success

During treatment, the patient experienced immune-related complications requiring intensive care. JICC rapidly coordinated a multidisciplinary response involving oncology, neurology, critical care, and input from Dr. Zhou Caicun, a principal investigator of ivonescimab.3,4 Following this coordinated care, the patient’s condition stabilized, and ongoing treatment is focused on disease control.3
