Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon Receives Major Update with Act 3 Improvements and Console Fixes

Awaken Realms and Questline have released a significant update, version 1.20, for Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, bringing substantial improvements to Act 3, alongside fixes for console versions and quality-of-life enhancements. The update is currently live on PC and will be rolled out to consoles following approval.

Act 3 Overhaul and New Content

The core focus of the 1.20 update is to address criticisms surrounding the game’s third act. Players can now explore a new area, the Etherbloom Love cave, and face two new minibosses: Sleepwalker, a large tree-like creature with a distinctive opening in its torso, and Cairnguard, a masked warrior specializing in close-combat attacks. A new quest, “The Empty House,” has also been added, presenting a narrative centered around a disfigured mystic seeking restoration.

Beyond Act 3: Landscape and Difficulty Adjustments

The update extends beyond Act 3, with modifications to existing locations and a redesign of the landscape. Alysa’s Seacrest Manor, a dilapidated mansion, has been enhanced with customizable features for players. The developers have addressed concerns about character progression, implementing a “soft cap” to limit excessive stat growth in the later stages of the game. Over twenty items have been modified to rebalance the game’s difficulty.

Console Improvements

Console players benefit from several key improvements in this update. A 40fps mode has been added, offering a smoother gameplay experience when used in conjunction with VSync, for consoles that support it. Crucially, the update resolves the save issue that plagued PlayStation 5 users.

Future Content

Questline has confirmed that additional content is in development, with the second DLC planned for release soon.

Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam).
