Sienna Spiro Reflects on the Journey to Releasing “The Visitor”
British singer-songwriter Sienna Spiro has officially released the studio version of her song “The Visitor,” following months of teasers on TikTok. The 20-year-old artist, currently on her sold-out U.S. Tour, The Visitor Tour, shared the deeply personal inspiration behind the track in a recent Instagram post.
The Inspiration Behind the Song
Spiro described the song as difficult to articulate, revealing it took nine attempts to capture the feeling she’s experienced throughout her life. The idea for “The Visitor” began two years ago during a conversation with a friend about an art exhibition titled “The Visitor.” The concept resonated with her, and the theme was further solidified months later at a jazz performance at Smalls in Recent York City, where the band introduced a piece about the temporary nature of life.
“I think my whole life I’ve felt like a visitor. I’ve always been aware of the temporary nature of things, of life, of time,” Spiro wrote. She explained that this feeling extends to her relationships and experiences, often anticipating impermanence.
After nine attempts, Spiro felt she had finally captured the essence of the song with the help of collaborators @pollackmusic and Omer, recording strings at Valentine.
