A Mayor’s Endorsement

He specifically lauded Chef Roy Taylor’s creation, the Big Oak Smash Burger, as a standout dish.
“From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by a warm atmosphere, excellent service, and a great dining experience,” Mayor Hardy wrote. “I was especially encouraged to endeavor the Big Oak Smash Burger, and it certainly lived up to the praise. A big thumbs up to Chef Roy Taylor for a delicious meal.”
Supporting Local Businesses
Mayor Hardy as well extended his gratitude to Daryl Harden, the owner of Cork + Oak, and the entire team for their hospitality and customer service. He emphasized the importance of supporting local businesses in Lansing, stating that such patronage strengthens the community’s heart.

Liquor License and Village Growth
Cork + Oak is one of several establishments operating with a liquor license in Lansing, a process overseen by Mayor Hardy himself. As the Village liquor commissioner, Hardy balances the needs of existing businesses with the potential for economic development when considering new license applications. S.L. Wine Bar, which opened in 2021, is another example of a local establishment with a liquor license.
Lansing continues to be a place where businesses can succeed and where residents can enjoy the benefits of a vibrant, growing village. Mayor Hardy expressed his anticipation for visiting more local establishments and celebrating the people and businesses that contribute to Lansing’s unique character.
