Mary Catherine Mulchrone of Westport, Mayo, Passes Away

Mary Catherine (née Doherty) Mulchrone, formerly of Cuilmore, Newport, and residing in Drunnagh, Kilmeena, Westport, County Mayo, has passed away. Her death was announced on Saturday, March 14th, 2026, with funeral arrangements set for the following week.

A Life Remembered

Mrs. Mulchrone was predeceased by her husband, Davy, her parents Michael and Sylvia Doherty, her sister Annie, her brother Matthias, and a sister who died in infancy. She is survived by her son, Martin, and a large family of nephews and nieces including Michael (Pauline), Martin, Fr. John (Corduff Parish, Dublin), Joe (Clara) Dublin, Mary Sheridan (Joe), Sheila Gannon (Padraic), Veronica Walmsley (Martin), Margaret McCormack (Dermot), Ann O’Reilly (Fáchtna), Kathleen Hurst (Ger), Carmel Ludden (Michael), Teresa O’Reilly (Joe), along with grand-nephews, grandnieces, the McGing Family of Westport, and extended family, cousins, neighbors, and friends.

Funeral Arrangements

Mrs. Mulchrone will repose at The Kilmeena Community Centre, Myna (F28 WT73) on Tuesday, March 17th, from 5:30 PM, with removal at 7:00 PM to St. Brendan’s Church, Kilmeena (F28 X634). A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 18th, followed by burial at Myna Cemetery.
