Paris Jackson has unveiled her new single, “Zombies in Love,” a collaboration with acclaimed singer-songwriter and producer Linda Perry. The track is the first release from an upcoming musical project expected later in 2026, potentially her second full-length album.

The singer-songwriter, and daughter of Michael Jackson, has been working on new music since her 2020 debut album, Wilted. She followed that release with the EP The Lost in 2022, and the singles “Bandaid” and “Hit Your Knees” in 2023. “Zombies in Love” marks a significant step forward, showcasing a deepened creative partnership with Perry, known for her work with 4 Non Blondes.

Driven by “shadowed undertones and slow-burning rock rhythms,” as described by NME, “Zombies in Love” features Jackson’s “deeply felt, vulnerable vocals” and a gently arranged backing track. The accompanying music video explores the theme of human connection in a technologically saturated world, offering a “surreal yet poignant metaphor for trying to survive in a hyper-connected world.”

Jackson previously hinted at the personal nature of her forthcoming album, stating in 2024 that the lyrics would delve into “touchy things” that “some people might have a hard time” hearing. She often draws inspiration from her own experiences with “pain or heartbreak or loneliness.”

In a 2020 review, NME described Wilted as “caught between the twee folksy pop of Paris Jackson’s previous releases with The Soundflowers and the bewildering alt-rock icon she may become,” ultimately calling it “enthralling, inconsistent and, at times, excellent.”

Jackson has stated she had “zero per cent involvement” with the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic, Michael. Despite this, claims of support from Jackson and her brother Prince prompted her to clarify that the situation had been “twisted.” She too celebrated six years of sobriety in January, encouraging others facing mental health challenges.
