Cookeville Regional Medical Center has announced the appointment of Dr. Penny Heinrich as the Medical Director of the Medical Oncology Program at The Cancer Center at Cookeville Regional. This collaboration with Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center aims to expand access to advanced cancer care in the Upper Cumberland region.

Dr. Heinrich is employed by Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center and will lead the medical oncology program, providing comprehensive care for cancer patients. The Cancer Center at Cookeville Regional Medical Center is a result of a partnership between Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center and Cookeville Regional Medical Center, bringing specialized oncology services to the community.
Dr. Heinrich’s Expertise and Experience
Dr. Penny Heinrich is a board-certified medical oncologist with over two decades of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of cancers and blood disorders. She completed her fellowship in hematology/oncology at Louisiana State University Health Science Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. Prior to joining Cookeville Regional, Dr. Heinrich founded Suncoast Cancer Institute in Sarasota, Florida, in February 2016, focusing on personalized cancer services.
