Swatch Pension Fund Opens Supervised Apartments in Cernier for AVS/AI Beneficiaries

Cernier, Neuchâtel – On March 16, 2026, an open day was held to showcase newly completed supervised apartments intended for beneficiaries of the Swiss Old Age and Survivors Insurance (AVS) and Disability Insurance (AI) in Cernier. The apartments, located at Rue des Monts 7, are owned by the Swatch Group Pension Fund and managed by the Pomologie Foundation.

Designed for Seniors and Individuals with Reduced Mobility

The modern building offers 21 supervised apartments specifically designed for seniors and individuals with reduced mobility. The project includes common areas and support services for residents. Visitors to the open house were able to explore the apartments and learn about the available services.

Alignment with Cantonal and Public Policies

The project has been awarded the AE label, recognizing its alignment with the objectives defined by the Canton of Neuchâtel. This label signifies that the project supports several public policies, particularly those related to the aging population. Most of the rental costs are compatible with the requirements for supplementary benefits from AVS and AI.

Collaboration with Perce-Neiges

The entire ground floor of the building has been leased to Perce-Neiges, an organization that will foster interaction and collaboration with the apartment tenants. This co-location aims to create a supportive and engaging environment for residents.

Building on Existing Infrastructure

The new building complements the existing “Pomologie I” building, which also provides housing for seniors and has previously received a label from the cantonal public health service due to architectural adaptations and management services.
