Daniel Brühl Signs with CAA and United Agents, Expands Film and TV Projects

Berlin and Spain-based actor Daniel Brühl has signed with Creative Artists Agency (CAA) and London-based agency United Agents, Variety reported on March 18, 2026. The move signals a broadening of Brühl’s reach in both European and Hollywood productions.

Upcoming Roles and Projects

Brühl is set to appear in several high-profile projects. He will take the lead role in Ruben Östlund’s upcoming film, “The Entertainment System Is Down,” alongside Kirsten Dunst and Keanu Reeves. He is also cast in the Netflix limited series “The Boys From Brazil,” adapted by Peter Morgan. Production on the BBC and MGM+ series “Legacy of Spies,” based on the work of John le Carré, is scheduled to begin later this month, with Brühl starring alongside Charlie Hunnam and Dan Stevens. Brühl also serves as a producer on “Legacy of Spies” through his company, Amusement Park Films, in collaboration with The Ink Factory.

Early Career and Notable Performances

Brühl first gained recognition for his role in Wolfgang Becker’s 2003 film “Great Bye, Lenin!,” earning him the European Film Award for best actor. He has since become a prominent figure in European cinema, with acclaimed performances in Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds” and a BAFTA and Golden Globe-nominated portrayal of Niki Lauda in “Rush.”

Expanding Production Work

Beyond acting, Brühl is actively involved in film production through Amusement Park Films, co-founded with Malte Grunert. The company produced the critically acclaimed and award-winning “All Quiet on the Western Front,” which received four Academy Awards and seven BAFTA Awards.

Directorial Debut and Future Projects

Brühl is also expanding his work behind the camera. He will direct “Break” in September, starring Felix Kammerer and Nicholas Braun. The film tells the story of German tennis champion Gottfried von Cramm and his conflicts with the Nazi regime. This marks Brühl’s second feature film as a director, following the 2021 comedy-drama “Next Door.”

Representation

In addition to CAA and United Agents, Brühl is represented by Martina Jansen at Players Agentur Management in Germany, Pedro Garay at Garay Talent in Spain, and Gonzalve Leclerc at Agence Adequat in France. United Agents lists John Hyslop as his acting agent, with Eve Humphreys as his assistant.
