Houston Dynamo’s Nick Markanich Faces MLS Suspension and Fine

Houston Dynamo FC forward Nick Markanich has been suspended for two total matches and fined an undisclosed amount by the MLS Disciplinary Committee following a match against the Portland Timbers on March 14, 2026. The disciplinary action stems from an incident in the 93rd minute of the game.

Details of the Suspension

The MLS Disciplinary Committee suspended Markanich for one additional match, bringing the total suspension to two matches, due to serious foul play. MLSsoccer.com reported the decision on March 19, 2026.

Markanich will serve the first part of his suspension during Houston Dynamo FC’s match against FC Dallas on Saturday, March 21. The additional match suspension will be served during Houston’s match against Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday, April 4.

Additional Fine for Conduct
