Sean Abbott Returns to Surrey for Fourth Stint
Australian international bowler Sean Abbott will return to Surrey County Cricket Club for the 2026 season, marking his fourth stint with the London-based club. The 34-year-old will be available for the first eight rounds of the Rothesay County Championship and the entirety of the Vitality T20 Blast competition.
A Familiar Face at The Oval
Abbott previously played for Surrey in 2021, 2023, and 2024, playing a key role in their County Championship Division One title wins in 2023 and 2024. He has accumulated 49 wickets in first-class cricket for Surrey at an average of 25.73, and has also contributed significantly with the bat, scoring 614 runs at an average of 38.37 [Kia Oval].
International Experience
The all-rounder has represented Australia in 58 one-day international and T20 international matches, taking 69 wickets and scoring 424 runs. He also holds the record for the most wickets in Big Bash League history with 186 [Cricket.com.au].

T20 Blast Record
In T20 cricket, Abbott has taken 25 Vitality Blast wickets and scored 221 runs for Surrey, including a record-equalling 34-ball century against Kent Spitfires at the Kia Oval in 2023 [Kia Oval].
