Spirit Adrift Announces Final Album and Reveal, Streaming New Single “Eternal Celestial Energy”
Heavy doom metal band Spirit Adrift has released a new single, “Eternal Celestial Energy,” signaling both a creative return and the impending end of the group’s decade-long run. The release, available via 20 Buck Spin, precedes their final performance on March 20th in San Antonio, Texas, alongside Crowbar and Eyehategod.
A Cathartic New Single
“Eternal Celestial Energy” marks Spirit Adrift’s first new material in three years, following the critically acclaimed 2023 album Ghost at the Gallows. Frontman Nate Garrett describes the song as “probably the heaviest thing I’ve ever written, both sonically and emotionally,” noting the difficulty in its creation and hoping it will offer catharsis to listeners. The End of an Era
The single’s release is accompanied by the announcement that Spirit Adrift will be disbanding after their final show. Garrett stated that a sixth and final Spirit Adrift album is “approaching sooner than you realize.” The band will debut two previously unheard songs at their farewell concert. Metal Injection
