Mojang Studios has officially announced Minecraft Dungeons II, the sequel to the popular dungeon-crawling action RPG. The announcement was made during Minecraft Live on March 21, 2026 , with plans for a fall 2026 launch.

Minecraft Dungeons II will be available on PC, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X | S. The game promises an all-new action RPG adventure, featuring high-stakes encounters, thrilling challenges, and never-before-seen locations as players work to save a world in crisis. According to a description on the Steam page, “A hero’s work is never done! Disorder is brewing, and the world stands before a threat unlike any other. The Original Minecraft Dungeons

The original Minecraft Dungeons, released in May 2020, offered a unique, action-focused twist on the Minecraft universe. While initially ranking 15th in top-selling games for its launch month, the game gained a dedicated following due to its Diablo-like gameplay. Mojang continued to support the original game with free updates, including crossplay functionality, and multiple expansion packs before ending development in 2023.
