Born in Galveston, Texas, Perrine began her career as a Las Vegas showgirl before transitioning to film in the early 1970s. Her breakthrough role came in Bob Fosse’s 1974 film “Lenny,” where she portrayed Honey Bruce, the drug-addicted wife of comedian Lenny Bruce (played by Dustin Hoffman). This performance earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress, as well as a BAFTA Award and Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival.
Iconic Role as Eve Teschmacher in ‘Superman’
Perrine gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of Eve Teschmacher, Lex Luthor’s loyal and witty assistant, in the 1978 film “Superman” starring Christopher Reeve. She reprised the role in the 1980 sequel, “Superman II.”

Stacey Souther, a friend of Perrine, announced her death on Facebook, praising her courage and compassion throughout her battle with Parkinson’s disease. Souther described Perrine as “a true inspiration who lived life to the fullest” and noted that “the world feels less beautiful without her in it.”
