JAAQ Raises $17M to Expand Mental Health Engagement Platform to US

JAAQ Secures $17 Million Series A to Scale Clinically Governed Mental Health Platform

JAAQ, a London-based digital health engagement platform, has raised $17 million in a Series A funding round. The investment will fuel the company’s expansion into the US market and deepen its clinical infrastructure, building on its existing deployments supporting over 1.5 million eligible lives. JAAQ announced the funding on March 24, 2026.

From Direct-to-Consumer to Enterprise Focus

Founded in 2021, JAAQ initially adopted a direct-to-consumer model centered around video-based mental health content. The company has since pivoted to focus on enterprise and healthcare organizations, embedding its library of over 10,000 clinically reviewed videos directly into the digital products of insurers, employers, and healthcare providers. TNW reports this shift aims to integrate mental health support into existing user experiences, rather than requiring individuals to actively seek out dedicated platforms.

Addressing the Mental Health Access Gap

JAAQ’s approach addresses a critical challenge: the significant gap between the demand for mental health services and the limited capacity of traditional care. The platform’s strategy is to leverage technology to reach individuals who may not otherwise access therapy. JAAQ emphasizes that its solution isn’t about replacing therapists, but about extending their reach.

Fresh Leadership and Investment

Alex Packham, a serial entrepreneur and technology investor who previously sold his company ContentCal to Adobe, has joined JAAQ as CEO. The Series A round included investment from Meridian Health Ventures, Fuel Ventures, Bolt Angels, and Guinness Ventures. EU-Startups highlights Packham’s experience integrating products within a large organization like Adobe as a key asset for JAAQ’s growth.

A Clinically Governed Approach

JAAQ differentiates itself through its commitment to clinical governance. The platform’s content is developed within a defined clinical and creative framework, ensuring credibility and safety. This approach is particularly important as AI-powered wellness tools become more prevalent. The Next Web notes that this focus on clinical governance is central to JAAQ’s value proposition.

Commercial Model and Future Expansion

JAAQ offers two commercial models: licensing content for integration into existing products, or providing a fully hosted JAAQ experience. The company is also developing a “clinical engagement layer” designed to simplify the integration of governed mental health content into any digital product. TNW reports that JAAQ’s UK deployments have demonstrated positive results, including productivity gains and reduced customer service demands.

The US market represents a significant opportunity for JAAQ, as mental health benefits become a growing priority for employers and insurers. The company aims to replicate its success in the UK by addressing the persistent challenge of low engagement with wellbeing benefits.
