Boise Stabbing: Man Arrested in Connection with Overnight Attack
Boise, Idaho – A 24-year-old man, James Rice, has been arrested and charged with aggravated battery following a stabbing incident that occurred early Tuesday morning, March 24, 2026, near Ustick Road and Five Mile Road in Boise. The victim sustained life-threatening injuries and remains hospitalized.
Details of the Incident
According to the Boise Police Department, officers responded to a report of a stabbing around 12:40 a.m. On Tuesday. Upon arrival, they found an adult male victim with injuries that appeared life-threatening. First responders provided immediate medical care until Ada County Paramedics arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital. His current condition is unknown. Idaho News reports the victim remains in the hospital.
Investigation and Arrest
Detectives quickly identified James Rice as a suspect in the stabbing. The City of Boise reports that Meridian Police took Rice into custody at approximately 11:15 a.m. On Tuesday, March 24, at a residence in Meridian. He has been booked into the Ada County Jail on charges of felony aggravated battery. KTVB confirms the arrest.
