Pregnant Alabama Woman Killed in Domestic Violence Murder-Suicide
A pregnant Alabama woman was fatally shot by a man she identified as her stalker before the suspect took his own life during a standoff with authorities on March 19, 2026. The tragic incident unfolded in Warrior, Blount County, Alabama.
Shelby Amidon, 29, was killed by Ricky O’Neil Beck Jr., 43, also of Warrior, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) . Amidon was expecting her second child with her husband, Nick Amidon.
Details of the Incident
Authorities responded to a domestic disturbance call at a residence on Beaver Trail in Warrior. Upon arrival, deputies observed Beck fleeing the scene in a vehicle on Mountain Lake Road. Beck reportedly brandished a firearm and struck a Blount County sheriff’s deputy’s patrol vehicle with his own. The deputy fired a shot, but Beck continued to flee.
Following a manhunt, Beck was found deceased in a wooded area with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. ALEA’s State Bureau of Investigation is investigating the incident, including an officer-involved shooting investigation due to the deputy discharging their weapon.
Amidon was found dead inside the residence.
Community Mourns
Shelby Amidon is remembered as a loving mother and wife. A GoFundMe campaign organized by Nick Amidon’s mother has garnered support for the family. As of Tuesday evening, the campaign was nearing its $12,000 goal.
“Shelby was a beautiful soul who brought love, warmth, and light to those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her,” Nick Amidon’s mother wrote on the GoFundMe page. “No family should ever have to endure this kind of pain.”
The investigation is ongoing, and ALEA’s findings will be presented to the Blount County District Attorney’s Office.
