‘Hollywood Squares’ Season 2 Finale Set for May 27th, With a Shorter Runtime
CBS’s revival of the classic game show Hollywood Squares is nearing its season two conclusion. The finale is scheduled to air on Wednesday, May 27th, at 8/7c, but with a reduced runtime of 30 minutes compared to the show’s typical hour-long format.
A Star-Studded Season
Hollywood Squares returned to television in 2025, bringing back the tic-tac-toe game show format with a modern twist. This season features over 70 celebrities participating in the show, aiming to aid contestants win up to $25,000.
Host and Center Square
Former NFL player Nate Burleson hosts the show, while Drew Barrymore continues to occupy the center square, a role she held for most of the first season’s episodes. The celebrity panel changes with each episode, featuring both recurring favorites and new faces.
Schedule Adjustment
The April 29th episode of Hollywood Squares has been moved to May 27th to accommodate the schedule of another CBS program, Survivor.
Game Format
Two contestants compete on Hollywood Squares, playing a game of tic-tac-toe. Celebrities provide answers to questions, and contestants must determine if the answers are correct to claim a square. The first player to achieve tic-tac-toe or secure five squares wins the game. A “secret square” offers contestants the chance to win a trip if selected and answered correctly.
Renewal Status
As of May 27th, CBS has not announced whether Hollywood Squares will be renewed for a third season.
