Remains of Missing 6-Year-Old Noel Rodriguez-Alvarez Found in Texas; Mother Charged with Capital Murder

A years-long mystery surrounding the disappearance of a young Texas boy has reached a tragic conclusion. Investigators have recovered the remains of six-year-old Noel Rodriguez-Alvarez, leading to capital murder charges against his mother, Cindy Rodriguez Singh. The Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office announced on Friday that the body of Noel Rodriguez-Alvarez was discovered in Everman, a compact city located near Fort Worth. Law enforcement utilized dental records to officially confirm the child’s identity.

Tarrant County District Attorney Phil Sorrells confirmed during a press conference that Cindy Rodriguez Singh has been indicted for capital murder. She will stand trial for the death of her son.

A Trail of Deception and International Flight

The timeline of Noel’s disappearance is marked by systemic lies and an attempt to evade justice. According to extended family members, Noel vanished without a trace in October 2022. However, the truth only began to surface during a welfare check in March 2023, initiated by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.

During that visit, police say Singh misled officers by claiming Noel was staying with relatives in Mexico. Shortly after this interaction, Singh fled the United States for India, traveling with her husband and six other children. Noel was notably absent from the family trip.

The flight triggered a high-priority search. Singh was placed on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives List before federal agents took her into custody in India in August 2023. The FBI subsequently extradited her back to Texas while police continued their desperate search for Noel.

Legal Proceedings and Current Status

With the recovery of the remains, the legal focus has shifted to the upcoming capital murder trial. The District Attorney’s office has not yet disclosed additional evidence beyond the recovery of the body and the prior history of deception.

Cindy Rodriguez Singh is currently detained at the Lon Evans Corrections Center in Fort Worth as she awaits trial.
