The confrontation involved a group of individuals and a man at the store. One suspect allegedly inflicted a wound to the victim’s upper body, as reported by Raphaël Bergeron, a spokesperson for the Montreal Police Department. The suspects then fled on foot, and police are awaiting a description to initiate a pursuit.

The victim was transported to a hospital, where he remained in critical condition early Tuesday evening. Authorities have not yet disclosed the motive behind the attack.
