Thai Nguyen Province Prepares for 2026 High School Exam Amid Severe Weather Risks

Thai Nguyen Province in Vietnam has implemented comprehensive measures to ensure the safe conduct of the 2026 high school graduation exam amid concerns over severe weather conditions, according to official reports. Over 22,735 candidates are registered across 47 exam centers, with 304 students enrolled at Trai Cau High School alone. Authorities have identified 44 of these centers as potentially vulnerable to heavy rainfall, flooding, and other meteorological challenges.

Proactive Risk Management Strategies

At Trai Cau High School, officials conducted early assessments of flood-prone areas and coordinated with local authorities to develop contingency plans. The school collaborated with the People’s Committee of Trai Cau District to secure alternative accommodations, including a capacity for 700 students in case of emergencies. “We have encouraged parents to arrange lodging near the exam venue for students from distant areas,” said Principal Cao Thi Hien. “We have also prepared alternative shelters at the district’s People’s Committee, local kindergartens, cultural centers, and private homes.”

Transportation plans are being finalized to address potential disruptions. Ban Tai Quy, vice chairman of the Trai Cau Patriotic Front Committee, stated that youth union members are monitoring flood risks along routes to exam centers. “In the event of heavy rain causing road closures, we will coordinate with the military and relevant units to guide students safely,” he explained.

Infrastructure and Safety Measures

At Phu Thong High School, where 238 candidates are registered, officials have evaluated risks of landslides, flooding, and dam overflows along transportation routes. The school has also prepared alternative lodging and intensified communication with students and parents to ensure preparedness.

Local authorities are conducting inspections to guarantee the safety of exam venues. Police and traffic departments are reinforcing road safety measures, while the Provincial Construction Department is prioritizing traffic management on major routes. The Provincial Youth Union has launched the “Exam Support Program,” providing assistance to candidates facing travel difficulties.

Government and Institutional Coordination

A delegation from the Ministry of Education and Training has inspected exam preparations in Thai Nguyen. All exam centers have been equipped with essential infrastructure, including electricity, water, medical services, fire safety systems, and food safety protocols. Authorities are also monitoring weather conditions in real time to implement proactive responses to anomalies.

Nguyen Thi Bich Hue, vice principal of Phu Thong High School, emphasized the importance of preparedness: “We have analyzed risks along the routes to the exam center and are ensuring students and parents understand the situation to plan accordingly.”

Commitment to Exam Security

The Provincial Exam Committee has finalized emergency response plans with local departments and agencies. The Provincial Military Command has deployed resources to address incidents and support exam sites as needed. Officials stress that the proactive measures reflect a coordinated effort across all levels to ensure the 2026 exam is conducted safely and seriously.
