Vocational Admissions Open Without Entrance Exams
Applications for admission to Ukrainian vocational colleges officially opened on July 1. The Ministry of Education and Science (MON) confirmed that prospective students can secure state-funded, regional-commissioned, or contract-based spots without submitting National Multi-Subject Test (NMT) results.
Addressing the Skilled Labor Deficit
The program is open to graduates of 9th and 11th grades, alongside adults pursuing professional retraining. The Ministry reports high demand for electricians, welders, construction workers, fitters, machine operators, and culinary specialists.

Dmytro Zavhorodnii, Deputy Minister of Education and Science for Digital Development, Digital Transformations, and Digitalization, underscored the urgency of the situation. “For certain technical specialties, there are currently more than 10 vacancies per specialist, so graduates have broad opportunities for employment immediately after training,” Zavhorodnii stated.
Application Deadlines and Digital Access
All applications must be submitted by September 1. Candidates have two paths: applying in person at their chosen institution or utilizing the electronic cabinet on the EDEBO website.
Admission criteria and required documentation remain at the discretion of individual colleges, and applicants should anticipate an interview or entrance examination.
Standardized Enrollment Paperwork
While specific mandates vary by facility, applicants should prepare a formal application, an education certificate with an academic transcript, a medical certificate, photographs, and a copy of an identity document. Those eligible for benefits must provide supporting documentation. Crucially, military-age individuals are required to submit a copy of their military registration document, such as a military ID, temporary certificate, or proof of registration at a recruitment center.
Training Timelines and Student Support
Study duration fluctuates between six months and three years, depending on the chosen trade and the student’s prior qualifications. Students can receive a monthly stipend starting at 1,250 UAH and facilitate dormitory housing for those in need. To bridge the gap between education and the workforce, the Ministry is currently partnering with outside organizations to modernize workshops and laboratories, aligning training equipment with current industry standards.
