Alinea International Opens Bid for Senegal Education Consultant
Alinea International has launched a search for an education consultant to join the Projet de Services d’Appui sur le Terrain (PSAT) in Senegal. The role, supported by Global Affairs Canada, is a part-time contract spanning from July 2026 to March 2027. The successful applicant will be tasked with a maximum of 132 working days.
Candidates must be Senegalese nationals or residents. Fluency in French is required, alongside at least five years of experience within the local education sector.
Operational Scope in Dakar
Operating out of Dakar, the consultant will provide technical expertise to bolster Canadian programming in the country. The role requires the consultant to supply their own office equipment and materials. The project, managed by Alinea International under contract with Global Affairs Canada (AMC), centers on four core objectives:
- Strategic Advisory: Providing analysis and planning support for Canadian educational programming and policy dialogue in Senegal.
- Technical Expertise: Offering guidance to the Government of Senegal and development partners to align programs with evidence-based policies.
- Performance Management: Assisting with monitoring, evaluation, and auditing processes, including the development of performance frameworks and results-based management.
- Coordination: Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the local education sector and facilitating synergy between various development partners and working groups.
Defining the Ideal Candidate
Applicants must hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in education, international development, public policy, or a related field. Professional experience must demonstrate at least five years of work in the Senegalese education sector, with a focus on international development.
The firm is looking for specific technical competencies, including:
- Experience with multilateral or bilateral donors such as Global Affairs Canada, the European Union, or USAID.
- Proven ability in policy analysis, educational reform, and sector governance.
- Expertise in results-based management, including the ability to design monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
- Proficiency in French is mandatory; fluency in Wolof or other national languages is considered an asset.
