The URRES Hockey club of La Serena captured the championship trophy on July 11 at the Estadio Centenario Manuel Saavedra. Competing in the adult category at the 235th Anniversary Tournament of Los Andes, the team battled through a demanding group stage before dismantling local rivals to secure the win. The victory was anchored by a stingy defense, earning goalkeeper Ingrid Trostel honors for the tournament’s best defensive record.
A Strategic Ascent Through the Bracket
Organized by Halconas Hockey with municipal backing from Los Andes and Calle Larga, the event drew clubs from different cities of the country for a full day of high-stakes field hockey. URRES began their campaign with a five-match group stage. Their performance earned them a second-place finish, punching their ticket to the semifinals.
There, the La Serena squad faced the tournament hosts. URRES dispatched the local side 4-1 to reach the final round. In the championship match, the visitors proved clinical, delivering a 5-0 victory over Andino Hockey of Peñablanca to claim the title.

The path to the championship was paved by organizational discipline. URRES Hockey Club received the “valla menos batida” award, a distinction reserved for the team that concedes the fewest goals. The club credited this defensive success to the steady hand of goalkeeper Ingrid Trostel.
