Milan Secures Spot on Global Tech Stage
Milan will host CES Unveiled on October 21 at the Allianz MiCo, marking an official European stop on the “Road to CES” tour.
A 13 Billion Euro Digital Engine
The decision to bring the tour to Milan highlights the region’s dense concentration of startups, research centers, and manufacturing powerhouses. Mayor Giuseppe Sala emphasized the scale of this influence, noting that the digital market in the Milan metropolitan area accounts for 13 miliardi di euro. This figure represents nearly 20% of the national market and 30% of the sector’s total employment in Italy.
Building a Regional Coalition
A formal protocol of understanding signed at Palazzo Marino has unified the local effort. This agreement coordinates activities between the Municipality of Milan, Regione Lombardia, the Chamber of Commerce of Milan, Monza Brianza and Lodi, the Municipality of Rho, and Fondazione Fiera Milano.

Industry Leaders Drive Digital Adoption
Business organizations are taking a primary role in the lead-up to the event. Assolombarda, led by President Alvise Biffi, points to a landscape featuring 22mila imprese manifatturiere, 173mila aziende dei servizi innovativi. The association is currently focusing on initiatives like “forgIA,” which assists businesses in adopting Artificial Intelligence and managing industrial data. Meanwhile, Confcommercio—representing Milan, Lodi, Monza, and Brianza—plans to engage local commercial establishments in technology themes to facilitate networking between startups and institutions.
Academic Depth and Future Growth
Data from Assolombarda underscores a robust academic and industrial base, with the region hosting 22% of Italy’s innovative startups and eight universities serving a large number of students. Alongside partners such as Anitec-Assinform and Assintel, these institutions are using the CES Unveiled platform to sharpen the international positioning of the Lombardy region. As a precursor to the main CES trade show in Las Vegas, the event offers local firms a vital stage to demonstrate their capabilities in Physical AI and industrial digital transformation.
