Colombian Aerospace Force: Call for University Graduate Officers 2027

The Colombian Aerospace Force (FAC) is currently accepting applications for its Extraordinary Officers Course, a program designed for university graduates to transition into military careers. According to the Fuerza Aeroespacial Colombiana, the registration window remains open until July 30, or until all available slots are filled.

Eligibility Requirements and Age Limits

The convocatoria targets Colombian citizens by birth who hold a recognized undergraduate degree. To qualify, applicants must have been born between June 1, 2002, and August 15, 2008. The FAC requires that all professional titles be recognized by the Ministry of National Education; degrees obtained abroad must include an official validation resolution from the ministry.

While the call is open to most professionals, the FAC has explicitly excluded graduates from the following fields:

• Law and Accounting
• Medicine, Odontology, and Bacteriology
• Psychology and Speech Therapy (Fonoaudiología)

Physical and Legal Standards for Admission

Candidates must meet strict health and legal criteria to proceed through the selection process. According to the institution’s guidelines, applicants must maintain a Body Mass Index (BMI) between 18 and 24.9 and meet the minimum height requirements established in the FAC psychophysical aptitude regulations. Legal requirements include a clean record with no disciplinary, criminal, or administrative antecedents.

Applicants must remain affiliated with an EPS (Health Promoting Entity) throughout the entire selection phase until they enter the academy. The FAC noted that marital status and having children do not disqualify a candidate from applying.

Training Timeline and Career Progression

Admitted candidates will begin their training in January 2027 at the “Marco Fidel Suárez” Military Aviation School in Cali. The program operates under a boarding school modality and lasts two academic semesters (one year). The curriculum focuses on military preparation, physical conditioning, and academic training in leadership and decision-making.

Upon successful completion of the course, graduates receive the rank of Subteniente and are assigned to a specific military specialty within the Aerospace Force.

Application Costs and Required Documentation

The selection process involves several paid stages. The initial registration fee is $175,000 COP. Subsequent costs include psychophysical exams (approximately $1,344,462 COP for men and $1,405,775 COP for women), psychological testing at $72,500 COP, and a security study including polygraphy for $343,700 COP. For male applicants, the total estimated cost of the process is $1,935,862 COP.

Applicants must upload the following documents in PDF format via the official Recruitment and Reserve Control Directorate platform:
