Understanding the Link Between MASLD and Eosinophilic Esophagitis

MASLD, formerly known as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), involves the accumulation of fat in the liver not driven by heavy alcohol use, often tied to metabolic conditions like obesity and type 2 diabetes. Eosinophilic esophagitis is a chronic, immune-mediated inflammatory disease characterized by a buildup of white blood cells called eosinophils in the lining of the esophagus, leading to swallowing difficulties and food impaction.
