Following a torch-lighting ceremony symbolizing the will, courage, and inheritance of Vietnamese martial arts, the program presented artistic performances divided into three main chapters: “Echoes of Vietnamese Heroism,” “Binh Dinh Traditional Martial Arts – Convergence and Spreading,” and “Vietnamese Traditional Martial Arts – Shining with Excellence.”
International Martial Arts Week Expansion
Gia Lai province has elevated the gathering into an international “Traditional Martial Arts Week” extending its major event series through the end of 2026, according to Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich, Vice Chairwoman of the Gia Lai Provincial People’s Committee. Lich stated that the initiative creates an exchange platform between Vietnamese and international martial lineages while developing a unique tourism product to promote Gia Lai as a destination for global cultural and sports events.
Binh Dinh’s traditional martial arts are preserved, inherited, and strongly developed within Gia Lai. Organizers report that the event introduces Binh Dinh martial culture to the global community, generating momentum for “cultural heritage economy” development. Furthermore, regional authorities indicate that the scale of the event and community preservation efforts provide a foundational basis for submitting dossiers for UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage recognition.
