Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez Set to Marry in Madeira

Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez are reportedly scheduled to marry this coming weekend in Madeira, according to reports from the British newspaper The Sun. The ceremony is planned for the cathedral in Funchal, marking a milestone for the couple after a decade together.

The pair first met in Madrid in 2016 while Ronaldo played for Real Madrid and Rodriguez worked as a sales assistant in a Gucci store, according to profile details reported across European outlets. They relocated to Italy in 2018 following his transfer to Juventus, moved to England in 2021 during his tenure with Manchester United, and subsequently relocated to Saudi Arabia in 2023.

Wedding Preparations in Funchal

Preparations for the ceremony are centered around Madeira’s capital, where local outlets first reported potential wedding plans in November. According to Jornal da Madeira, the Funchal Cathedral was provisionally booked for a mid-afternoon service.

Following the religious ceremony, the wedding reception will take place at the nearby five-star hotel Savoy Palace. Hotel management reportedly informed guests that specific areas, including two floors and multiple bar sections, will remain restricted on Friday and Saturday to accommodate the private event.

Engagement and Family Background

Ronaldo proposed to Rodriguez late last year, a development she shared publicly on Instagram in August by displaying an engagement ring with the caption, “Yes, I do. In this and in all my lives.” In a subsequent appearance on the podcast Uncensored, Ronaldo detailed the proposal, explaining that it took place around 1:00 AM when their children unexpectedly entered the room.

In April 2022, Rodriguez gave birth to twins Bella Esmeralda and a boy named Angel, who tragically did not survive birth. Ronaldo also has an older son.
