International authorities have issued a warrant for a 32-year-old German national suspected of aiding the May 2026 murder of a 28-year-old woman in Kottingbrunn, Austria, according to a report published Sunday by the Kronen Zeitung. Investigators are searching for Elvis V. as an accomplice in the fatal shooting, which prosecutors allege was planned alongside primary suspect Christian F.
A Fake Persona and a Deadly Encounter
The victim, a 28-year-old part-time secretary and business student in Vienna, was killed in her apartment during the night of May 14 to May 15, 2026. Police state that the primary suspect, 27-year-old Christian F. from Styria, met the victim on Facebook shortly before the homicide.
Investigators discovered that Christian F. had fabricated his persona online. Court records cited by the Kronen Zeitung show he was previously convicted of fraudulent bankruptcy (betrügerische Krida) and used artificial intelligence tools to generate fake images of luxury sports cars and upscale offices to present himself as a wealthy civil engineering entrepreneur.
Reenactments Reveal a Robbery Plot
During recent court-ordered reenactments at the crime scene, Christian F. modified his previous statements to investigators, pointing to his former friend Elvis V. as the mastermind behind a robbery plot. The two men met in 2012 through online gaming, and Elvis V. relocated to Austria in early 2026 under the promise of a managerial position in Christian F.’s nonexistent company.
According to the Kronen Zeitung, Christian F. introduced Elvis V. to the victim in April 2026. Investigators report that the German national learned the victim possessed significant financial assets. On May 14 at approximately 4:00 p.m., the two men rented a Kia in Graz and drove to Kottingbrunn. Police tracking indicates the second suspect’s mobile phone was switched to flight mode during the trip.
The Manhunt and Ongoing Investigation
Christian F. told investigators that a severe argument broke out between the victim and Elvis V. inside the apartment before he shot the woman during what he described as a “tunnel vision” state, as reported by the Kronen Zeitung. The 27-year-old claims he withheld his accomplice’s name initially due to death threats against his family.
Authorities have confirmed that funds were subsequently withdrawn from the victim’s bank account using her ATM card, though how the suspects obtained the PIN remains under investigation. An international arrest warrant remains active for Elvis V., while Christian F. is held under the presumption of innocence.
