The new route complements Delta’s existing nonstop flights to Tokyo-Haneda (HND), establishing Seattle as the carrier’s premier Pacific gateway to Japan.
Flight Details and Schedule for Seattle-Narita Service
According to schedule details provided by the Port of Seattle, flights will operate daily using an Airbus A330-900 aircraft. Outbound flights from Seattle (SEA) will depart at 1:35 p.m. and arrive at Tokyo-Narita (NRT) at 4:20 p.m. the following day. Return flights from Narita (NRT) are scheduled to depart at 6:30 p.m. and arrive in Seattle (SEA) at 12:00 p.m. the same day.
The aircraft features Delta’s standard long-haul cabin configurations, including Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort, and Main cabins, according to company statements. The service provides passengers with direct access to modern amenities designed for trans-Pacific travel.
Expanding Capacity to Tokyo
The addition of the Narita route gives travelers two distinct Tokyo airports to access from the Pacific Northwest and the broader U.S. network, according to Jeff Arinder, Vice President of International Network Planning at Delta. Arinder stated that the dual-airport strategy offers customers greater choice and increased capacity when planning travel to Japan.
“Japan continues to be one of the most important and beloved destinations in Delta’s global network and adding Seattle–Narita service gives our customers even more choice when planning their travel,” Arinder said, according to the airline’s release.
Port of Seattle Commissioner Toshiko Hasegawa emphasized the historical and economic ties driving the expansion. “For generations, our region has been connected through trade, tourism, cultural exchange, and the enduring friendships between our people,” Hasegawa said, according to Port of Seattle documentation.
Seattle’s Position as a Pacific Gateway
With this new addition, Delta maintains its status as the largest international carrier at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, operating more than 160 peak-day departures to over 62 destinations. The airline’s long-haul network from SEA includes existing nonstop flights to Amsterdam, London, Paris, Seoul, Shanghai, Taipei, and Tokyo-Haneda, alongside recently added seasonal or year-round routes such as Rome and Barcelona.
Eligible passengers departing on long-haul international flights from Seattle have access to the Delta One Lounge at SEA, which provides dedicated dining and rest facilities prior to boarding.
