The Korean Basketball League (KBL) has officially announced the complete regular season schedule for the 2026–2027 campaign, set to tip off on October 3, 2026, according to league releases. Running through April 11, 2027, the upcoming professional basketball schedule features a total of 270 games, with each of the league’s competing teams playing 54 matches.
Opening Day Matchups and Season Tip-Off
The official opening day on October 3, 2026, features a triple-header lineup for basketball fans. According to the KBL schedule announcement, Busan KCC and Changon LG face off at 2:00 PM at the Busan Sajik Gymnasium. Concurrently at 2:00 PM, Goyang Sono squares off against the Daegu KOGAS Pegasus, followed by an afternoon matchup at 4:30 PM between Anyang Jung Kwan Jang and the Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus.
Wonju DB Promy tips off its home campaign the very next day on October 4 at 2:00 PM. Hosted at the Wonju DB Promy Arena, Wonju DB meets Goyang Sono for its inaugural match of the season in front of home supporters, according to league fixtures.
Schedule Structure and League Format
The 2026–2027 regular season maintains a structured weekly rhythm designed to balance rest and competition for all participating squads. According to KBL planning, the league schedules one game on weekdays and three games across weekend slates, establishing an average of 11 matches per week.
Following the conclusion of the 54-game regular season calendar, the top six teams in the standings advance to the postseason playoffs. These clubs compete through elimination rounds culminating in the championship series to crown the league winner.
Preseason Open Match Days
Before the regular season commences, teams will test their rosters during an official preseason exhibition schedule known as the “Open Match Day.” According to the KBL, these tune-up games run for four days from September 24 through September 27.
Each club plays two exhibition matches—one at home and one away. The sole exception is Changwon LG, whose home arena is currently undergoing construction; Changwon LG will play both of its preseason contests on the road.
