The Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Office of Education operated a four-day training program in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from August 3 to August 7, 2026, delivering Korean educational methods to 120 local teachers and Korean language instructor candidates. According to the Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Office of Education, the initiative aimed to share the province’s teaching competencies internationally and expand educational exchange.

Program Overview and Curriculum in Tashkent

The 20-hour program took place at the Early Childhood Education Training Center in Tashkent, featuring a six-member consulting group composed of four elementary and secondary teachers and two kindergarten administrators. Selected through the 2026 Gyeongbuk Global Exchange Program, the instructors focused on early childhood education, play-based teaching methods, and student-participatory learning models. Participants practiced practical instructional strategies and reviewed Korean educational materials designed for local application. Superintendent Lim Jong-sik stated that the initiative allowed Gyeongbuk educators to share practical experiences with Uzbek teachers and foster mutual growth.

Expanding International Educational Cooperation

Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Education expressed strong interest in the early childhood curriculum models presented during the sessions, signaling potential for future administrative partnerships. The Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Office of Education plans to build on the Tashkent training by maintaining continuous ties with overseas educational bodies, supporting cross-border pedagogical development, and sharing provincial teaching frameworks with international partners.
