Setting up a new server traditionally requires hours of manual software installation, configuration adjustments, and documentation reviews before an environment is ready for production use. According to Hivelocity, the newly introduced App Store removes much of that workload by automating the installation process when customers purchase or reload a server through the myVelocity portal. Many of the supported applications also include pre-configured security rules and hardening out of the box.
“Our customers shouldn’t have to spend hours configuring software just to start using the infrastructure they’ve already purchased,” said Ned Pope, Chief Product Officer at Hivelocity. “With the App Store, they can choose what they need, have it installed in minutes, and start working with it right away.”
Deployment Details and Availability
The App Store is available at no additional cost to Hivelocity customers who purchase a new server or reload an existing one via myVelocity. Most application deployments complete within 10 to 15 minutes. Key features of the launch include:
