Russian forces launched overnight missile attacks targeting multiple Ukrainian cities, according to an update shared by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. In the southeastern city of Zaporizhzhia, at least six people were killed and 19 others injured by the strikes. Three additional fatalities were confirmed in the wider Dnipropetrowsk region, while local authorities reported that the capital city of Kyiv was also targeted.

Simultaneously, Ukrainian drone strikes struck several key industrial and logistical targets inside Russia. According to Zeit.de and reports from regional governors, a drone strike hit the Asot chemical plant in the Tula region south of Moscow, sparking a large fire. Asot operates as one of Russia’s largest chemical facilities, producing agricultural fertilizers alongside essential components for military munitions used in the ongoing conflict.
SBU Claims Responsibility for Rybinsk State-Reserve Strike
In the northern Russian region of Yaroslawl, Governor Michail Jewrajew confirmed that an industrial fuel and lubricants storage facility in Rybinsk was struck by multiple drones. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) later claimed responsibility for the strike on the state-reserve facility, stating that the stored gasoline and diesel fuel directly supply Russian military operations.
Fires Spread to Orsk Refinery and Voronezh Logistics Center
Video footage published by President Zelenskyy showed thick black smoke billowing from the burning facility. Additional fires were reported at an oil refinery in Orsk near the Kazakhstan border and at a Wildberries online retailer logistics center in the southern Voronezh region, which Ukraine accuses of supplying logistical support to Russian military forces.
Moscow Defenses Intercept Hundreds of Aerial Targets
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that air defense units intercepted hundreds of incoming aerial targets across multiple regions during the coordinated night assault. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin confirmed that several drones targeting the capital area were successfully intercepted and brought down. While regional governors in Yaroslawl reported no immediate casualties from the fuel depot strikes, extensive material damage to Russia’s wartime industrial base remains under evaluation.
