The Dirección de Educación Superior of Mendoza, alongside local educational institutes and municipal officials, launched three professional training programs aimed at expanding technical opportunities in the eastern region of the province, according to the Dirección General de Escuelas (DGE). Announced in August 2026, the Level III professional formations cover photovoltaic solar systems, thermal solar systems for sanitary hot water, and health and safety protocols in mining environments.

New Training Programs Target Renewable Energy and Mining Sectors

According to the DGE, the curriculum is designed to support growing economic sectors in Mendoza, specifically focusing on clean energy, energy efficiency, and mining activity. The programs include a certification for installing and maintaining photovoltaic solar systems, a course dedicated to thermal solar systems for residential and industrial hot water production, and a specialized track in health, safety, and environmental protection for mining contexts.

The mining safety course continues a trajectory initiated during 2025, while the solar installation tracks introduce new technical credentials to the region. According to the DGE, these courses grant official certifications that build practical, technological competencies for direct employment or entrepreneurial ventures.

Hybrid Delivery Across San Martín and La Paz

The educational initiative is coordinated through a joint framework involving the Dirección de Educación Superior, the IES 9-001 José de San Martín in San Martín, the IES 9-005 Fidela Amparán in La Paz, and the Municipality of San Martín, as reported by the DGE. Classes will take place at the Escuela de Oficios in San Martín.

Minister of Education, Culture, Infancias and DGE Tadeo García Zalazar, alongside San Martín Mayor Raúl Rufeil and Director of Education Superior Mariela Ramos, presented the offerings at the municipal trade school. According to official statements from Ramos, the program features an innovative hybrid delivery model enabling students in La Paz to enroll and take the exact same courses simultaneously through inter-institutional cooperation.

Future Railway Technical Degree Planned for 2027

Building on the current technical expansion, Minister García Zalazar announced plans for a new technical degree in railway operations slated for 2027, according to the DGE. The implementation of the railway curriculum remains contingent on federal approval from national authorities, and aims to address anticipated infrastructure and labor demands in eastern Mendoza.

Registration for the 2026 Level III professional formations is currently open. Interested applicants can request further enrollment details by contacting ingresoiesdyt9001@gmail.com, per the DGE announcement.
