Dutch video games have taken center stage in Jakarta through a summer exhibition hosted at the Erasmus Huis cultural center, according to the Dutch Games Association (DGA). Running until August 29, the showcase features 12 playable titles alongside a specialized art exhibition dedicated to Guerrilla’s Horizon series.
Bringing the Dutch Games Industry to Indonesia
The cultural exchange began in February when the Embassy of the Netherlands in Indonesia approached the DGA to organize an exhibition highlighting Dutch creative culture within the Erasmus Huis library and exhibition space, as reported by the DGA. To bring the vision to life, the association enlisted games curator Arjan Terpstra and graphic designer Laura Langendijk. Terpstra traveled to Jakarta a week ahead of the launch to oversee final setup details alongside local partners who translated the initial designs into the exhibition space.
The VIP opening took place on Friday, June 5, drawing figures including the Director of Games at the Ministry of Creative Economy and Shafiq Husein, President of the Asosiasi Game Indonesia (AGI), according to DGA documentation. The public opening followed on Saturday morning with industry presentations from both Dutch and Indonesian sectors, concluding with an audience question-and-answer session. Erasmus Huis expects thousands of visitors will tour the exhibition over the summer months.

The exhibition highlights a cross-section of Dutch game development. According to the DGA, the 12 playable titles and associated studios featured in Jakarta include:
