Atlus has officially announced a February 18, 2027 release date for Persona 4 Revival, bringing mechanical overhauls and audiovisual upgrades to the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and Microsoft Store, and Xbox Game Pass, according to reporting by VGChartz analyst William D’Angelo.
New Combat Mechanics and Tactical Systems
According to the official features trailer detailed by VGChartz, Persona 4 Revival introduces several combat updates. The new “Send Flying” mechanic triggers when a player lands a normal attack on a shadow already suffering from a status ailment, knocking the enemy backward. If the flying shadow collides with another shadow, it deals damage and spreads the status ailment across multiple targets in battles featuring more than one enemy.
Players can also utilize the “Baton Pass” system during a “1 MORE” phase to hand control directly to allies. This mechanic allows teams to target varying enemy weaknesses and coordinate knockdowns. Furthermore, a new meter fills up during combat to unlock “Prime Time,” a powerful mode that grants consecutive actions, eliminates all skill costs, ignores enemy resistances, and makes Baton Pass freely available. The mode concludes with a flashy “Series Finale” attack that deals massive damage to opposing shadows, as reported by VGChartz.
Expanded Narrative Presentation and Audio
Outside of combat, Atlus is updating the game’s daily life simulation elements in Inaba. According to VGChartz, Persona 4 Revival features fully voiced events using newly recorded dialogue for both the main story and newly added Social Link events, adding an extra layer of emotional depth to character interactions.
The audio landscape is also receiving a refresh. Atlus composer Riyota Kosuka has created brand-new music compositions alongside remixed versions of Persona 4 tracks. Vocals for these updated musical arrangements are provided by singer Shiiori Sasaki, according to the VGChartz report.
