Disney and TikTok Strike Global Streaming and Content Deal

The Walt Disney Company and TikTok announced a global agreement on December 8, 2026, combining short-form fan content with the Disney+ streaming platform. The partnership opens with a United States pilot program before expanding to international markets, according to joint statements released by both companies.

The deal bridges user-generated TikTok videos with official entertainment assets. Participating creators who opt into the program gain access to resource libraries spanning hundreds of films and television series across Disney brands, including Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and FX.

Inside the Verts Integration on Disney+

Short-form videos produced by participating creators will live simultaneously on TikTok and inside dedicated Verts on the Disney+ application.

According to The Walt Disney Company, these videos will update regularly to align with active fan discussions, building community engagement and driving viewers toward full-length formats within the streaming service.

Fandom Metrics Powering the Partnership

TikTok data indicates that entertainment fandom drives substantial daily engagement on the platform.

Last year, TikTok users shared an average of 6.5 million film and television posts daily, according to internal company figures. Furthermore, nearly half of surveyed viewers reported watching a movie or TV show on streaming or broadcast television after discovering related content on TikTok.

The Disney Creator Ambassador Program

A central element of the global agreement is the Disney Creator Ambassador Program, operated jointly by both companies. The tiered initiative aims to support emerging digital talent by providing participants with special rewards, increased visibility, invitations to exclusive events, and career development pathways.

Asad Ayaz, Chief Marketing and Brand Officer for The Walt Disney Company, stated that fans celebrate company stories in entirely new ways. “This collaboration creates a new bridge between the stories we tell and the creativity they inspire, giving creators a bigger stage to share what they’ve made, and audiences more to discover on Disney+ every day,” Ayaz said.

Dawn Yang, Global Head of Entertainment at TikTok, noted that creator communities extend the lifespan of television shows and films through ongoing cultural conversations. “Together with Disney, we’re bringing the authentic creator expression of the TikTok community to Disney+, inviting audiences to experience the shared creativity that makes fandom so powerful,” Yang said.

Domestic Pilot and International Rollout

The collaboration launches as a domestic pilot in the United States over the coming months. Both companies confirmed plans to roll out the integration to additional global markets following the initial U.S. deployment.
