Porto Viro recently wrapped up its “Marti in Piasa” summer festival series in Donada, closing the community event with local musical performances, family activities, and an environmental awareness campaign led by Ecoambiente.
Music and Entertainment Across Donada
The closing night featured several distinct attractions spread throughout the Donada center. Along via Roma, local dance schools including Dance Academy Ritmo Caliente, Asd Il Campus, and Asd Dimensione Danza hosted a “Noche Latina” event. Meanwhile, children’s attractions operated in the parking lot of the Tiozzo school.
In piazza Marconi, singer-songwriter Claudia Pregnolato performed under her stage name Namida. The artist made her Porto Viro debut following a performance run that previously brought her to San Siro before a concert by Vasco Rossi. The evening’s festivities were broadcast live by Delta Radio with presenter Paolo De Grandis.
Ecoambiente Campaign Targets Waste Disposal
During the piazza Marconi events, Pierpaolo Frigato, a board member of waste management company Ecoambiente, spoke to attendees about waste reduction, recycling, and environmental protection. Porto Viro marked the final stop for the company’s regional awareness tour, which previously visited Porto Tolle and Rosolina.
Ecoambiente set up an educational space along via Roma aimed at younger residents. Children participated in a creative workshop that transformed discarded plastic bottles into decorative plastic flowers.
During his interview, Frigato characterized illegal waste dumping as a severe problem requiring expanded enforcement tools. According to Ecoambiente, potential deterrents include mobile camera traps alongside active patrols by environmental inspectors and local law enforcement agencies.
Technology and Education in Waste Management
Frigato noted that artificial intelligence tools can assist authorities by automatically isolating useful video frames from security recordings, significantly cutting down the time required to review surveillance footage. He also acknowledged the volunteer associations that clear waste from beaches, riverbanks, and other remote areas.
Beyond enforcement and technology, Ecoambiente emphasized community education. “Children are sharper than their parents; often they are the ones who correct them. It is on them that we must invest, through workshops and school initiatives,” Frigato stated regarding the environmental workshops.
Transition to the Agosto Donadese
Following the conclusion of “Marti in Piasa,” local organizers are preparing for the upcoming “Agosto Donadese” festival. The event runs from Thursday, August 13, through Saturday, August 15.
Food stands open daily at 7:30 PM, followed by evening entertainment starting at 9:30 PM. The schedule begins with the Michael Jackson tribute act “Jackson One” on Thursday. Tribute band “Dicono di Cesare” performs on Friday, while the Music Jockey Party Band provides entertainment on Ferragosto. The festival concludes at midnight with a traditional raffle drawing and a fireworks display.
