Tragedy Strikes Khanewal Days After Wedding
A newlywed woman named Iqra was allegedly killed by her father and brothers in a suspected honour killing in Chak No. 170/10-R, Khanewal district. Police reports published by ARY News on Thursday confirm the victim had married a man of her choice just three days prior to her death.
Father Lures Bride Home Before Fatal Strangling
According to Khanewal police, the victim’s father, Falak Sher, brought Iqra back from her in-laws’ home under the pretext that her formal wedding departure ceremony would be held from her parents’ house.
Police stated that Falak Sher, along with two of her brothers and another son, then allegedly strangled her with a noose.
Arrests Made and Case Filed by Grieving Husband
Authorities arrested Falak Sher immediately following the incident. A formal case has been registered based on a complaint filed by the victim’s husband against the father and three brothers. Local law enforcement agencies are continuing their active investigation into the circumstances surrounding the murder.

Karachi Domestic Shooting Surrender
In a separate domestic violence incident reported alongside the Khanewal case by ARY News, a man allegedly shot and killed his wife in the Garden Headquarters area of Karachi.
Police stated that the suspect, identified as Tariq, shot his wife, Bushra, twice in the head with his father’s licensed pistol after accusing her of having an extra-marital affair. Following the shooting, the suspect surrendered himself and the weapon at a nearby police station. Investigators noted that the couple had been married for four years and that the victim was a resident of Manghopir.
