Google Pixel Watch and Fitbit Air: New Multi-Device Support & Health Features

Google has integrated its Health ecosystem to allow simultaneous device management across platforms, enabling users to pair both a Google Pixel Watch and a Google Fitbit Air to a single Google Health account, according to official support documentation released by Google.

Managing Multiple Devices in Google Health

The updated system configuration lets users wear either compatible device interchangeably without needing to manually disconnect or re-pair hardware. According to Google’s setup guidelines, multi-device linking supports exactly one Google Pixel Watch and one Google Fitbit Air paired to the same application profile.

To add a secondary device, users open the Google Health application, navigate to the connections menu in the upper-left corner, select the option to add another device, and follow the on-screen configuration prompts.

Data Synchronization and Wrist Detection

Google Health features automated wrist detection that identifies which piece of hardware a user is currently wearing. According to system specifications, data streams from active devices are automatically unified to maintain consistent health and fitness metrics.

When users switch between the Pixel Watch and the Fitbit Air, the application merges metrics to provide a combined total for steps, sleep tracking, and heart rate. If both devices are worn simultaneously, the application prioritizes data streams based on device performance parameters.

Source Filtering and Google Health Coach

Users can audit and isolate metric streams by source within the application. By tapping a specific metric card, opening the expanded graph, and accessing source options via the menu, individuals can view data attributed exclusively to a chosen device.

Additionally, when both hardware items are worn at the same time, the Google Health Coach utility relies on the resulting unified data stream rather than isolated inputs, according to official platform documentation.
