Police in Derry are appealing for witnesses after a man sustained facial and leg injuries during an assault in the city’s Peace Garden over the weekend, according to local law enforcement reports.

Derry Peace Garden Assault Investigated by Police

The male victim suffered injuries to his face and leg during the attack and required hospital treatment.

Chief Inspector Ian Ferriby described the episode as a horrible incident that left the victim hospitalised. Because the assault took place in the middle of the day in a busy city centre location, investigators believe numerous witnesses may have been present.
