Broadway Theater and Rock Springs URA Open Applications for Fall/Winter 2026 Internship and Scholarship Program
The Broadway Theater and the Rock Springs Urban Renewal Agency (URA) are officially accepting applications for the Fall/Winter 2026 Internship and Scholarship Program.
Eligibility Requirements and Target Audience
The program targets Sweetwater County high school seniors as well as students currently enrolled at Western Wyoming College for the upcoming fall semester. According to the URA’s announcement, applicants should possess a demonstrated passion for the performing arts, marketing, theater operations, or related fields. Selected participants gain practical exposure to both the Broadway Theater and Bunning Hall, bridging classroom theory with real-world administrative and technical responsibilities.
Program Curriculum and Practical Experience
Interns engage in a comprehensive range of theater and event operations, including marketing campaigns, routine maintenance, schedule coordination, and event planning. Additional duties involve physical set-up, lighting and sound operation, and reviewing performer contracts. Throughout the multi-month term, participants operate under specific goals established during the application process while receiving continuous coaching to refine their skills.

Dr. Bernadine Craft, Executive Director of the Sweetwater Board of Cooperative Education Services (SBOCES)—the organization funding the program—highlighted the expanded scope of the initiative. According to Craft, the program moves beyond supporting individual performances to provide comprehensive, real-world experience in theater operations and business management, which directly complements student classroom learning and enhances career and technical education in Sweetwater County.
