DLSS 4.5 DLAA Performance and Visual Benchmarks
When operating in Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing (DLAA) mode at 2K resolution with maximum graphics settings, the upscaler’s presets K, L, and M deliver virtually identical visual fidelity.
Despite the visual parity, performance metrics differ across the three configuration profiles:
- Preset K: Delivers a reference frame rate of 34 FPS, offering the highest performance among the DLAA options with a stable, flicker-free image.
- Preset L: Yields a frame rate of 30 FPS, marking an 11.8 percent performance drop compared to preset K while maintaining identical clarity.
- Preset M: Records a frame rate of 32 FPS, representing a 5.9 percent decrease from preset K and a 6.7 percent increase over preset L.
Hardware Constraints and Testing Methodology
The hardware configuration used for the evaluation included 32 GB of DDR5 6200 MHz RAM and a Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1 TB NVMe SSD. Testing was restricted to 2K resolution rather than 4K to isolate the upscaler performance from engine-level memory conflicts. When physical memory runs low, the engine blocks rendering threads completely rather than dynamically reducing asset quality, necessitating 2K benchmarks to prevent texture streaming errors.
