Hulu’s hit comedy series Only Murders in the Building will officially premiere its sixth season on December 8, shifting its usual summer release window and relocating its central mystery across the Atlantic Ocean, according to reports from Deadline and Vulture. Alongside the winter premiere date, the upcoming installment has been officially retitled Only Murders in London, marking a first for the seven-time Emmy-winning dramedy as the podcasting trio leaves the familiar confines of the Arconia building.
A New Mystery in London’s Covent Garden
The sixth season picks up immediately after the events of season five, according to reporting by. Amateur sleuths Charles-Haden Savage (Steve Martin), Oliver Putnam (Martin Short), and Mabel Mora (Selena Gomez) find themselves drawn to London’s Covent Garden to investigate the apparent murder of Cinda Canning, the recurring figure played by Tina Fey. Series co-creator John Hoffman noted that production moved overseas, prompting a shift from the show’s traditional August or September release schedule to a cozy winter slot.
Details regarding whether the victim is actually Cinda Canning or an uncanny lookalike remain under wraps. However, Hoffman revealed to Vulture that the new episodes will feature a British reboot of Brazzos, the fictional, once-popular television show that originally launched Charles into minor celebrity status.
An Expansive Cast of Guest Stars
Season 6 introduces a massive roster of notable British actors joining the core cast. Unlike some guest appearances where performers play heightened versions of themselves, Hoffman confirmed that these actors will portray entirely fictional characters. Colman reportedly stars as a writer, while Saunders is directly tied into the storyline involving the Brazzos television reboot.

Although filming for the sixth season took place outside of the winter months, production is scheduled to wrap in the coming days.
