Selena Gomez and her mother, Mandy Teefey, face a federal lawsuit filed by investors alleging financial misrepresentation and operational collapse at their mental health venture, Wondermind, according to court documents filed in Delaware.
Two entities, Wondermind SRS 44 LLC and Bespoke Wondermind LLC, initiated the legal action in federal court, naming Wondermind Global, Gomez, Teefey, and former business partner Daniella Pierson as defendants, according to court filings obtained by Page Six. The plaintiffs claim they invested $1.2 million into the platform in September 2022 based on representations that the company possessed the necessary infrastructure, leadership, and resources to launch a profitable wellness enterprise.
Investor Allegations and Marketing Failures
The lawsuit states that Gomez, 34, ignored contractual obligations to actively build the company as its head of marketing by leveraging her social media following, advertising partnerships, and television appearances. According to the complaint, those partnerships never materialized, the mobile application was not built, and the company quietly collapsed over a three-year period while the founders allegedly concealed the downturn from backers.
Investors state they remained unaware of the operational disarray until an article published by the Cut in September 2025 detailed severe financial and operational issues within the organization. That publication also brought attention to internal turmoil, including allegations concerning Teefey’s capacity to manage the company.
Leadership Disputes and Denials
The federal complaint cites internal allegations from the Cut regarding Teefey, 50, involving workplace conduct and management challenges. When investors confronted Teefey about the state of the business, she reportedly attempted to shift responsibility to Pierson, who left the company following an internal dispute in January 2023.

Court documents show that when Bespoke member Andrew Resnick inquired about the company’s status on April 8, Teefey responded that she believed his investment had already been returned alongside other backers. When Resnick disputed receiving any funds and asked for clarification, Teefey reportedly directed him to consult legal representation.
Teefey denied the allegations of substance abuse and operational failure in a statement provided to TMZ, calling the claims false and characterizing them as the statements of disgruntled former personnel.
