The exhibition runs from September 5 through October 25, 2026, at the Galerie im Forum located at Friedrichstraße 10, 33330 Gütersloh. Visitors can view the collection Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, during scheduled Stadthalle events, or by appointment via telephone at 05241 864244. Admission to the gallery is free of charge, according to the Stadthalle Gütersloh event listings.

A public opening vernissage takes place on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 7:00 PM. Author and satirist Augustin Upmann will read excerpts from „Das Schützenfest-abc“ during the launch event. The gallery display features the visual implementation of this collaborative project alongside written passages from the book. Menne places a specific focus on the traditional bird-shooting competition („Vogelschießen“), crafting a sharp yet affectionate pictorial cycle that captures the character of the Westphalian shooting community without crossing into mockery, as detailed by the Stadthalle Gütersloh.”

Background on Artist Peter Menne

Born in Delbrück in 1962, Peter Menne established his career as a caricaturist and regional milieu illustrator with roots in Bielefeld, following studies at the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee. Menne currently divides his time between his residence in Potsdam and his home region of Ostwestfalen-Lippe, producing illustrations for daily newspapers, trade magazines, and book publishers, according to the Stadthalle Gütersloh.
