Alianza Lima Qualifies for the 2026 Women’s Volleyball Club World Championship

Alianza Lima will compete in the 2026 FIVB Volleyball Club World Championship, securing a berth in the global tournament following a reallocation of slots by the International Volleyball Federation, according to reports from the outlet Puro Vóley. The Peruvian club, which captured a third-place finish at the South American Club Championship, will make its second appearance at the elite international tournament scheduled to run from December 8 to December 13, 2026, in São Paulo, Brazil.

Qualification Path for the 2026 Club World Championship

Alianza Lima secured its qualification through an expanded tournament format and a subsequent slot reallocation. According to tournament qualification structures, Osasco and Sesi earned the direct qualifying berths allocated to the South American tournament. Because Osasco holds the tournament host designation, an additional berth opened up, which was reassigned to Alianza Lima based on their third-place finish in the continental competition.

The tournament lineup features elite clubs from across international volleyball. Alongside Alianza Lima, the confirmed field includes host club Osasco São Cristóvão Saúde and South American champion Sesi Vôlei Bauru from Brazil. European club representation features Turkish powerhouses VakıfBank İstanbul as European champions and Eczacıbaşı Dynavit İstanbul as runners-up. Asian qualifiers include Japan’s NEC Red Rockets Kawasaki as champions and Thailand’s Nakhon Ratchasima as runners-up, while Al-Ahly SC of Egypt rounds out the field as the African champion.

Looking Back at the 2025 Club World Championship Performance

Alianza Lima enters the 2026 tournament carrying experience from their debut appearance at the previous year’s global championship. During the 2025 tournament, the Peruvian side finished third in Group A and secured sixth place overall in the final standings. Their group-stage campaign featured a straight-sets defeat to Brazil’s Osasco, a 3-1 victory over Kazakhstan’s Zhetysu VC, and a 3-0 loss to Italy’s Savino del Bene Scandicci, providing the squad with valuable exposure against top-tier professional competition.
